For Royal Salute, we reimagined the iconic lion as a leader guiding us through the world’s most enchanting cities.

Each limited-edition captured the character and cultural richness of its city, elevating the pack into a tribute to place and transforming a global symbol into a series of deeply local expressions.

Crafted for discovery

The Challenge

Royal Salute has long created limited editions that celebrate craft through luxury storytelling and detailed artistry, each a beautiful, collectible piece. As the brand looked to create editions across multiple cities, the creative challenge was to create a design approach that could flex to tell every city’s unique story. And within each story, how do we balance each city’s heritage alongside its contemporary, progressive spirit.

The Opportunity

Our Unordinary Idea was ”Portrait of a Culture”, transforming each city edition into a richly illustrated cultural portrait, designed to be discovered layer by layer.

Guided by cultural insight, we moved beyond the obvious landmarks to find elements that genuinely represent each destination. Each selection needed to work within a unified visual language while expressing cultural differences.

The design plays with reveal and discovery. Illustrated cityscapes wrap the outer pack as living tapestries, rich with detail and narrative. Royal Salute’s iconic lion, remains constant across every edition, the golden thread connecting the collection. Each city story is brought to life through its own colour palette and illustrative expression, yet all sit unmistakably within one design language.

The Results

Each city launch creates its own cultural moment, building local relevance and collector appeal in key duty-free locations, and positioning Royal Salute’s limited editions as destination-worthy treasures in their own right.
