Huawei Developer Brand Identity: a portal into infinite worlds to be explored.
We live in a world where we are connected by the apps we use – from shopping, to travel and even dating. Apps are how we sustain old connections, create new ones, experience new places and explore the world. Individually they make our own mini universes. However, the Huawei Developer is a space where those individual, personal, mini universes collide, to create the AppGallery multiverse. A place where ideas are born, connections are made and infinite universes are ours to explore.
Reimagining the Huawei Developer multiverse.
The Change
Huawei AppGallery prides itself in its collaborative attitude toward partners, with the motto “Explore More, Expand Together”. However, there was a lack of excitement and humanity in the way this culture was being expressed for their developer community. We needed to create a brand for this audience that would stand out from their consumer app store as well as a strong presence against the many other developer brands such as Apple and Google.
The Opportunity
We uncovered clear opportunities for identity across the whole toolkit, with levers of change that would create a powerful, flexible, consistent and altogether inspiring brand within Huawei. Our idea of the ‘multiverse’ was a place where ideas are born, connections are made and infinite universes are ours to explore. The system celebrated this through unique portal shapes, bold colour, distinctive photographic styling, intriguing illustration and dramatic motion.
The Result
The new identity has been flexed across multiple digital and physical touchpoints and is soon to be rolled out within the Developers ecosystem. It stands out dramatically from the other competitor developer brands yet sits comfortably within the wider Huawei ecosystem of brands.
