Sam joined Coley Porter Bell as Creative Director in 2016 and has nearly 25 years’ experience in design and branding, having previously worked for Landor, Interbrand, Fitch and Identica.

Throughout her career she has worked on many major packaging, retail, and identity projects including Plant Kitchen by M&S, Tesco, Flawsome, Sharwoods, Muller Light Amore, Sony, Apple, Nephila, and McLaren. This breadth of experience which crosses consumer and corporate means she thinks strategically and holistically about business and brand challenges, and allows her to cross design disciplines when required.

She also likes to push the development of a broader approach to branding, specifically addressing ways in which brands can communicate non-visually through written word, sound, movement, touch and aroma – all the assets that act as a vehicle for expressing brand character.

Sam believes that great branding is a combination of clear insight and extraordinary creative. She considers investment in all forms of design as the best way to make a product disappear off the shelf, instead of into it.

Away from the studio she is busy putting the finishing touches to the renovation of an old bakery as well as building her very own log cabin in the woods.
